To all of our American tea-lovers, we want to wish you a very happy Independence Day! We hope your day is filled with sunshine, family and friends, and of course, a BBQ filled with amazing food and drinks.
And obviously no BBQ is complete without sangria, so we wanted to share a very patriotic sangria recipe with you.
But we’re going to give this recipe an extra burst of flavour by infusing it with our For Tea’s Sake Blueberry Blast iced tea. The added blueberry tea will round out the flavours and pair nicely with the fresh fruit.
So kick back and relax this Independence Day and let this mouthwatering sangria be the highlight of your BBQ.
Ingredients — This will make a full pitcher
-1 bottle of dry white wine
-1 cup triple sec
-1/2 cup berry-flavoured vodka
-2 tablespoons For Tea’s Sake Blueberry Blast iced tea
-2 cups water
-1/2 cup sugar — you can add more to taste
-1 cup blueberries
-1 ½ cup sliced strawberries
-1 cup raspberries
- 1 ½ cup pineapple chunks
-Warm up two cups of water and the tea in a small saucepan and bring it to a simmer. Remove from the heat and set aside to let the tea steep for about 30 minutes. Make sure to use a proper steeper so you avoid getting the loose-leafs into the mixture.
-Pour the tea into a pitcher and add the sugar. Stir until the sugar completely dissolves.
-To mix the sangria, pour in the bottle of wine followed by the triple sec and vodka.
-Next, take a star shaped cookie cutter and cut star shapes into the pineapple. Now, add the fresh pineapple, blueberries, raspberries and strawberries to the mixture.
-Cover and refrigerate mixture for at least four hours and then serve with ice cubes.
